  9. Could anybody with any experience of rendering images to be used for still
  10. photographic negatives, i.e. 35mm, 4x5, etc suggest the image size and
  11. therefore the resolution, that images should be rendered at?

  13. The same for movie industry film formats? I guess this one is aimed at

  17. and such and it looked alright":)

  27. I could not find a definate answer for any of the still neg sizes, but
  28. I do have info for VistaVision, which is theoretically the same "size"
  29. as 35mm still (ie. 8 perf horizontal travel):

  31. 1.485" x 0.991"

  33. This is a perfect 1:1.50 aspect ratio.  This is why printing to 4"x6"
  34. maintains the full neg area.  Printing to 3.5"x5" is only 1:1.43,
  35. which loses some of the neg area.
